It’s that time of the year again. During the Apple event on September 7 2022 the Silicon Valley tech giant announced a wide array of product updates including the new iPhone 14. This is all that you’ve missed.
During the September 2022 event Apple announced its new showpiece: the iPhone 14. Although the new phone runs on the same A15 chip, Apple did use a 5-core GPU to increase performance over last year’s iPhone 13.
In addition, the camera is now equipped with a bigger sensor which allows you to take better low-light photos. The iPhone 14 Plus has the same features, but comes with a 6.7-inch screen instead of a 6.1-inch display.
Both the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will run on an impressive A16 Bionic chipset for maximum performance and enjoy powerful camera improvements such as a 48MP (!) main shooter.
Furthermore, it is noticeable that the notch at the top in these models has made way for the so-called Dynamic Island. This new oval beam is interactive and can take on various shapes depending on apps, notifications and messages. It can even show extra information.
Release date: All new iPhones can be pre-ordered from September 9 and will be released in stores on September 16.
Although the Apple event in September 2022 mainly focused on their new iPhones, the tech company did also announce three new Apple watches: Apple Watch 8, Apple Watch SE (2022) and Apple Watch Ultra.
While the first two get minor improvements such as new temperature sensors and a low-power mode that nearly doubles battery life, the Apple Watch Ultra is a completely new model. With features such as more precise GPS tracking, depth gauge and 49mm titanium casing it is made for athletes and adventurers alike.
Last but not least, Apple announced new AirPods during their September 2022 event. Amongst other things, the new wireless earbuds are improved with a better H2 chip, a custom amplifier for better sound, personalized spatial audio and upgraded noise cancellation.
