New phones are usually better than their predecessors. But is this the case for the new iPhone 13 too? Let’s break it down!
The first thing you notice when holding both devices is that the design of the iPhone 13 is almost identical to the iPhone 12. They both have the characteristic flat sides with a 6.1” screen size. The biggest difference is the notch at the top of the screen that includes the selfie camera. The iPhone 13 display cutout is significantly smaller in width, giving the new model a sleeker look and slightly more screen space.
With each new iPhone release it’s expected that the camera is being upgraded. And with multiple new features, the iPhone 13 doesn’t disappoint in this area. Although both iPhones are equipped with 12 megapixel cameras, the new model produces massively better end results due to the new Sensor Shift technology that provides greater image stabilization. No more blurry photos or videos ever again.
Another mandatory part of any iPhone comparison: battery life. Where the iPhone 12 didn’t really excel in battery life, the iPhone 13 truly delivers. The new 3095mAh battery lasts for up to 2.5 hours longer than the previous one found in the iPhone 12 without compromising on charging speed. That’s some welcome news, right?
The new iPhone models are powered by the A15 Bionic processor which is an upgrade from the A14 Bionic chip in their iPhone 12 counterparts. This new chip allows for better graphic speed with more FPS and has slightly more processing power, but its biggest advantage over the earlier version is that it uses less energy - which equals to even longer battery life.
To be fair, both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 are incredibly fast and powerful devices. However, the camera enhancements, faster processor, 512GB storage options and improved battery life make the new model a more sustainable and future proof choice if you’re looking for an iPhone right now.
